Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit. We also use one piece of local storage (a similar browser-side mechanism) for the same purpose — both are covered below.
What cookies we use
SponsorSignal uses only essential cookies and local storage. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies — no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel, nothing that tracks you across sites.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your account | Essential (cookie) | Up to 400 days, or until you sign out |
| sb_recovery_flow | Confirms a password-reset link is genuine before letting you set a new password | Essential (cookie) | 10 minutes |
| ss_cookie_notice | Remembers that you have seen this notice | Essential (local storage) | Until you clear your browser data |
| dismissed_announcements | Remembers which site announcements you've already dismissed | Essential (local storage) | Until you clear your browser data |
The auth cookie's exact name includes a project identifier (e.g. sb-xxxxx-auth-token) — it's set automatically by Supabase, the authentication service we use.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies (and the local storage entries above, which work the same way) are necessary for the website to function. They can't be disabled without breaking core features like signing in. Under UK PECR and GDPR these don't require your consent, but we're still required to tell you about them — which is what this page, and the notice you saw, are for.
Cookies we do not use
- ✗Google Analytics or similar traffic analytics
- ✗Facebook/Meta Pixel or advertising pixels
- ✗Marketing or retargeting cookies
- ✗Social media tracking cookies
- ✗Third-party advertising networks
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, which may set their own cookies:
- Stripe — payment processing. When you upgrade or buy credits, you're taken to Stripe's own hosted checkout page to enter card details. Any cookies Stripe sets to prevent fraud during that process are set on Stripe's own domain, not sponsorsignal.co.uk — we never see or handle your card details directly.
- Supabase — authentication and database. Sets the session cookie described above to keep you signed in securely.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way you'd clear cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to SponsorSignal. For more information visit aboutcookies.org.
